In order to save the world from plunging into chaos, Gloria enlists the help of the others to join her in retrieving the crystals. When her kingdom was attacked, the crystals were stolen, weakening the seal that holds back a wicked evil. Gloria happens to be the princess of a fallen kingdom that once kept the crystals of Excillant in the balance.
Throughout the game's opening hour or so you are introduced to Gloria, Adelle and Elvis, the crew that will accompany Seth on an adventure through the various kingdoms of Excillant. You assume the role of Seth, a young sailor who washes upon the shores of Excillant after his ship perishes in a dangerous storm, with his memory of the events clouded by amnesia. Considering the fact that series producer Tomoya Asano has apologized for the underwhelming nature of Bravely Second, you may be wondering if Bravely Default 2 manages to last longer than the series' last outing.When it comes to its narrative, Bravely Default 2 takes a very conservative approach, one that will feel familiar to almost anybody that has played a JRPG. Bravely Second: End Layer fell a bit short of that mark, clocking in at around 43 hours for the main campaign. The main story of the first Bravely Default took around 56 hours to complete, but gamers who have a tendency explore every corner and collect every trinket could easily squeeze out another twenty or so hours. But does it follow in its predecessors' footsteps with a lengthy storyline? While it is technically not a sequel to the previous games, Bravely Default 2 has built off of what worked in earlier installments to create a fun new experience for Nintendo Switch gamers. Critics have praised the game's combat and storytelling (although the character models have not proven to be as popular). 25, 2021, and it has already proven itself to be a worthy addition to Square Enix's JRPG franchise.
